Complexity and Business

Market Relevant Fit

Business attempts to mitigate financial risks by appealing to the mass market. This lack of focus creates a broader problem-solution fit and even worse, an irrelevant market fit. A mass market solution may feel like a less risky financial venture because the larger audience appears to have a greater revenue potential. However, t here is an experience tradeoff: appealing to a broader audience and more general market invites additional features that inevitably hurt both the experience and the software performance. As noted by Maurya (2012),“Complexity costs more in development, software testing, and technical support.”
